Reporting directly to the Founder and CEO, the Director of Construction will oversee all aspects of NDura's construction operations. This leadership role requires a dynamic individual who can balance strategic oversight with hands-on mentorship, ensuring projects are executed on time, on budget, and with the highest quality standards. You will manage and develop the project management, estimating, and field operations teams, helping to lay the foundation for NDura's next decade of growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the construction department, including project managers, estimators, site technicians, and subcontractors.
  • Oversee project budgets, timelines, safety standards, and quality control from pre-construction through completion.
  • Implement and optimize construction management systems, workflows, and reporting structures (experience with JobTread or similar software is a plus).
  • Collaborate closely with the CEO on strategic planning, resource allocation, and operational growth initiatives.
  • Manage subcontractor and vendor relationships, ensuring top-quality performance and adherence to project schedules.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across all construction teams.
  • Drive hiring, training, and development efforts to build a high-performing operational team aligned with NDura's core values.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues proactively, mitigating risks and maintaining client satisfaction.
  • Uphold NDura's commitment to honesty, transparency, and excellence on every project.


What We're Looking For

  • 8 or more years of progressive experience in residential and/or multi-family construction, including 5+ years in a leadership capacity.
  • Proven track record of overseeing multiple projects simultaneously with high levels of success.
  • Strong knowledge of Alberta Building Codes, construction safety standards, and municipal permitting processes.
  • Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., JobTread, Procore, Buildertrend) preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills capable of inspiring and guiding both field and office teams.
  • Ability to balance big-picture strategic thinking with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach.
  • Strong financial acumen related to estimating, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various sites across the Edmonton region.
  • A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent practical experience will be considered.
