NDura DevelopmentsConstruction Site Assistant - Residential Infill $45,000-$52,000 annually, based on experienceFull-Time&nbsp;|&nbsp;Edmonton, Alberta&nbsp;|&nbsp;Company Truck Provided Be the Extra Set of Hands That Keeps the Job Moving.NDura Developments is looking for a dependable, hands-on Construction Site Assistant to support our Site Superintendents across active residential infill and multi-family projects throughout Edmonton.This is a field-based, hands-on construction position. You will work directly with our Site Superintendents to fill the gaps that come up on an active jobsite and help keep projects clean, organized, safe, documented, and moving forward.We are looking for someone who understands construction, is comfortable working with their hands, and doesn't need to be told what to do every five minutes.If you see something that needs to get done, you get it done.This is not a project management or trade-coordination role. The majority of your time will be spent on site doing practical construction work and supporting the Site Superintendent -- with a real responsibility for recording what happens on site each day. What You'll Be DoingGeneral Construction &amp; Site Support<ul><li>Support the Site Superintendent with day-to-day requirements on active construction sites.</li><li>Perform general construction labour and site-support work.</li><li>Move, load, unload, organize, and stage construction materials.</li><li>Assist with site preparation and cleanup throughout all phases of construction.</li><li>Help prepare areas for upcoming trades and construction activities.</li><li>Assist trades when practical and appropriate.</li><li>Protect completed work and materials from damage.</li><li>Perform minor repairs, adjustments, and general site maintenance.</li><li>Complete whatever practical site tasks are required to keep the project moving.</li></ul>Site Documentation &amp; RecordsThis is a core part of the role, not an afterthought. Our Superintendents run several sites at once, and accurate field records are what keep every project visible.<ul><li>Complete NDura's Quality Standards (QS) inspection checklists at each construction stage.</li><li>Take and upload progress, deficiency, and pre-cover photographs.</li><li>Complete daily site logs recording trades on site, work performed, weather, and delays.</li><li>Record material deliveries, shortages, and damaged or rejected goods.</li><li>Enter and maintain site information in JobTread.</li><li>Keep project field records organized and current throughout the build.</li><li>Communicate site progress, concerns, and outstanding items clearly to the Superintendent.</li></ul>Materials, Deliveries &amp; Pickups<ul><li>Receive, check, and organize material deliveries.</li><li>Move materials to the appropriate location on site.</li><li>Maintain organized material-storage areas.</li><li>Pick up materials, supplies, and equipment from local suppliers when required.</li><li>Help ensure the Superintendent and trades have the materials they need when they need them.</li><li>Track commonly used site supplies and flag when materials need replenishing.</li></ul>Tools &amp; Equipment<ul><li>Safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and common construction equipment.</li><li>Maintain and properly store tools and equipment.</li><li>Assist with basic carpentry, framing, demolition, finishing, and general construction tasks where capable.</li><li>NDura will provide additional tools and equipment required for the position.</li></ul>Site Organization &amp; Maintenance<ul><li>Maintain clean and safe work areas throughout the day.</li><li>Keep access routes, walkways, material areas, and work areas organized.</li><li>Assist with fencing, signage, site access, and general site security.</li><li>Help manage mud, snow, water, debris, and other day-to-day site conditions.</li><li>Assist with seasonal site maintenance and cleanup.</li><li>Help prepare sites for inspections, deliveries, trades, and upcoming construction activities.</li></ul>Quality &amp; Deficiencies<ul><li>Identify incomplete, damaged, or deficient work and bring it to the Superintendent's attention.</li><li>Maintain deficiency lists and track corrective work through to completion.</li><li>Help complete minor deficiencies and general touch-ups where appropriate.</li><li>Assist with deficiency cleanup and project closeout.</li><li>Help ensure completed areas are protected and maintained to NDura's standards.</li></ul>Supporting the Site SuperintendentYour job is to make the Site Superintendent's job easier.You will help with the tasks that fall between the cracks on a busy construction site -- material pickups, cleanup, site preparation, small repairs, organizing materials, protecting finished work, preparing for trades, and capturing the daily record of what actually happened.You should be comfortable being given a task and owning it from start to finish without constant supervision.You will report directly to the Site Superintendent assigned to the project and will work across multiple NDura sites throughout Edmonton. What We're Looking ForWe are looking for someone who is:<ul><li>Dependable and punctual.</li><li>Comfortable working hard and staying productive throughout the day.</li><li>Hands-on and mechanically inclined.</li><li>Comfortable working outdoors in Edmonton's changing weather.</li><li>Able to work independently once given direction.</li><li>Willing to jump in and help wherever needed.</li><li>Able to identify what needs to be done without waiting for a detailed task list.</li><li>Comfortable using common construction tools.</li><li>Familiar with residential construction and construction sites.</li><li>Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for photos, checklists, and daily logs.</li><li>Able to communicate clearly, in writing and in person, with the Superintendent and field team.</li><li>Organized and takes pride in keeping a jobsite clean and professional.</li><li>Safety-conscious and willing to follow NDura's procedures.</li><li>Physically capable of lifting, carrying, climbing, bending, and performing active construction work.</li></ul>Construction Experience1-3+ years of residential construction or related construction experience is preferred, but we will consider the right candidate with less experience who demonstrates strong work ethic, mechanical ability, reliability, and a willingness to learn.Experience with any of the following is an asset:<ul><li>Residential framing</li><li>General carpentry</li><li>Demolition</li><li>Drywall and finishing</li><li>Concrete</li><li>Landscaping and site work</li><li>Material handling</li><li>Renovations</li><li>New home or multi-family construction</li></ul>You do not need to be an expert tradesperson. We are looking for someone who understands construction, knows how to work safely, keeps good records, and can be useful on a busy jobsite. Vehicle &amp; ToolsCompany Truck ProvidedNDura provides a company truck for this position. You will not be asked to use your own vehicle or haul materials in it.You will travel between NDura project sites throughout Edmonton and regularly pick up materials, supplies, and equipment from local suppliers.A valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence and a clean driver's abstract are required, and you must be able to provide a current abstract before starting. The company truck is provided for work use and is expected to be kept clean, maintained, and driven responsibly.Personal ToolsCandidates should have a basic set of personal construction hand tools appropriate for general site work.NDura supplies additional tools, equipment, and specialized items required to perform the job safely and effectively. SafetySafety is an important part of the position. You will be expected to:<ul><li>Follow NDura safety procedures and site requirements.</li><li>Use appropriate personal protective equipment.</li><li>Keep work areas clean and free of hazards.</li><li>Report unsafe conditions immediately.</li><li>Use tools and equipment properly.</li><li>Maintain safe access throughout the jobsite.</li><li>Follow direction from the Site Superintendent regarding site safety and work procedures.</li></ul>WHMIS and First Aid/CPR are considered assets but are not required to apply.
